Akela Cooper

Akela Cooper is the writer for James Wan’s return to horror, Malignant, released by Warner Brothers; Her movie M3gan for Universal/Blumhouse with James Wan/Atomic Monster producing, Gerard Johnstone directing, and Allison Williams starring and producing was released early in 2023. Additionally, she’s written The Nun 2 for New Line/Atomic Monster and The Safran Company.

On the TV side, Akela was an Executive Producer on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season one for Paramount +. Previously Akela worked on Steve DeKnight’s Netflix series, Jupiter’s Legacy based on a comic book series by Mark Millar. Akela also worked on Netflix/Marvel drama series Luke Cage, season six of the Ryan Murphy FX series, American Horror Story as well as The Hundred, Witches of East End, Grimm and V.
