Kristin Iris Johnson

Kristin Iris Johnson was born in Chicago, IL. She is a Film Producer, Screenwriter, and the VP of Development and Production at MegaMind Media. Having a lifelong gift for storytelling Kristin attended Columbia College Chicago where she studied both Film/Video and Fiction Writing before getting her BA in Fiction Writing in 2008. She is creator and writer of the hit supernatural TV series Wicked City (2022) starring Vanessa Bell Calloway; writer of the upcoming feature film Kiss of Death (2023). She also produced the feature film Trophy Wife (2022); and was a producer for feature films The Sound of Christmas (2022) starring Ne-Yo; The Deadly Getaway (2023); Holiday Heartbreak (2020); The Available Wife (2019); co-produced two very important anthology series with BET Her that highlight mental health challenges and breast cancer awareness in the Black community: BET Her Presents: The Couch and BET Her Presents: The Waiting Room, and many more projects. Kristin seeks to expand how Black and other underrepresented people are depicted in film and TV. She believes that as Black writers and creators, we are the wild fruit grown from the seeds of our ancestors; paving new ground, igniting change, and inspiring others through the stories we tell.
