Danson Njoka

Danson Njoka is the newly announced CEO of Kugali Media. The extremely talented Kenyan born and London based executive with a living and working experience across Africa, North America and Europe, is the fresh face of the Kugali brand. His background is a parade of excellence and accolades in poetry, finance, athletics and science. With a foundation in Corporate finance and business operations in Tech, Energy, Manufacturing and Sustainable Development, he continues to inspire a generation of young leaders through his exceptional story. Raised as one of five children in his hometown, Danson had always been a star in academics, art, drama, and sports topping every examination and competition which earned him a spot abroad at NorthEastern University Boston where he majored in Biomechanics for a few years after which he chased a different dream back to his hometown in Kenya, to work with the National Environmental Authority, researching solutions to root causes of segregated waste in Kenya and its environs. This inspired a drive in decision-making and a keen interest in helping marginalized societies and colored people get the representation and finances they needed to be better, leading him down the road of corporate finance, to be able to bring exceptional ideas and generate substantial capital to solve problems in the world. He later traveled to the UK to pursue his MBA, where he also enlisted as a professional amateur in the midlands where he won the midlands ground PRE of 2012. Years later, he moved to work with startups for almost 5 years, in health & Fitness, renewable energy, etc. His years of cross-cultural experiences and time away from Kenya, set him on a quest to unearth and understand personal heritage and identity, as well as a culture that was mostly erased through colonialism. This was aided by his 99 year old grandma whose stories he has been recording for the last few years, and it was during that time that he discovered Kugali in 2019 and the shared mission to retelling African stories, and the ambition to create opportunities for others to enhance the narrative portrayed about the people of color and other marginalized communities. Kugali, founded by a group of talented artists, brought Danson onboard to help with selling a product that contributes to humanity through culture and a drive to envision a continent by inspiring the next generation to proudly look to the future, through comical representations on how to tell their own stories and become like the heroes they read in Kugali’s stories. Danson lives by the mantra ‘Be kind’.
