Sheree Renée Thomas
Sheree Renée Thomas is an award-winning writer, book editor, and associate editor of Obsidian: Literature & Arts in the African Diaspora. She is the editor of the iconic The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction and the co-editor of the groundbreaking Africa Risen: A New Era of Speculative Fiction. A Cave Canem Poetry Fellow and Octavia E. Butler Award recipient, Sheree is the author of several acclaimed collections, including Nine Bar Blues: Stories from an Ancient Future, Sleeping Under the Tree of Life, and Shotgun Lullabies. Her work is deeply rooted in myth, folklore, and the power of the Black imagination. Her latest collection, Mojorhythm, was released in 2025, and her forthcoming book, The Tongue I Dream In (PM Press, Outspoken Authors Vol. 36), is set for release in August 2026.
